Introducing the Aromabox, the world’s most eco-friendly coffee packaging for coffee beans and grounds.

Made completely from Bamboo-O, an eco-friendly material of bamboo fibre and plant starch. The Aromabox is 100% home-compostable. It performs like plastic but contains no plastic.

The Aromabox is set to launch in mid-2024, so please stay tuned! Please contact us if you are interested in learning more about it.

Endless customizability.

The Aromabox comes in two popular sizes: 500g and 250g. It is available in colours representing the earthy tones of its contents. In addition, Earthmade's B2B customisation services allow clients to request different colours and finishes to match their branding.

Made from Bamboo-O.

No plastics, no chemicals, no waste.

After years of research and development, our manufacturers have developed worldwide patented technologies to produce an all-new and innovative eco-friendly material—Bamboo-O, which is made entirely of plant starch and bamboo fibre.

Utilising the flexibility of starch and the toughness of bamboo, Bamboo-O can be rigid like plastic but is completely home-compostable. Bamboo-O is also manufactured with a lower carbon footprint than paper.

In other words, Bamboo-O is developed using only materials produced naturally by our planet, and it is designed to return to the earth at the end of its life cycle.

Take a closer look.

The Aromabox may look simple and minimal, but the details make all the difference. From the lid to the base, the Aromabox is cleverly designed to achieve its most important goals as a coffee packaging: easy to use and keep the coffee fresh.

The Push-Fit.

The push-fit lid is simple yet functional. The rounded sides of the lid align with the body of the Aromabox, allowing for an easy grip when opening and closing. The front lip also contributes to a seamless opening experience and it has been designed to provide an airtight seal.

The Base.

At the bottom of the Aromabox is where you’ll find the degassing valve. The one-way valve allows carbon dioxide to escape and prevent the air from getting in. The valve is a crucial part of the Aromabox as it allows coffee to stay fresh for longer by preserving its flavour, aroma, and texture.

Our business model.

Earthmade follows a B2B business model, selling the Aromabox directly to coffee roastaries and businesses. We offer our clients the option to choose from two different volume sizes and the ability to customise the Aromabox with colours and finishes to fit their brand.

Keeping costs down.

Based on our rigorous testing and research, we decided to design the lid the same size across both 250g and 500g Aromaboxes, and this allows us to keep cost down for our customers and the design language consistent.

Our circular story.

At Earthmade, we encourage consumers to reuse their Aromaboxes. The containers are a perfect source of nutrients for seeds and young plant to grow but consumers can reuse the Aromabox to store many other things. The potential for reusability is only limited by consumers' creativity.

Our design process.

Earthmade has partnered with London-based design agency Beta Design Office to help make the Aromabox a reality. From the very beginning, we have envisioned a concept of "natural circulation", in which we aim to design coffee packaging that is not only a joy to use but also inspires consumers to engage in sustainability without sacrificing convenience.

We underwent multiple iterations from our first prototype based on market research and feasibility testing. As a result, we achieved what we think is the ideal size and design to fulfill the core function of coffee packaging—storing coffee and keeping it fresh—while also satisfying the sustainability commitment that Earthmade stands by.

Staying true to our brand and the contents of the Aromaboxes, we choose to use earth inspired colourways, providing a look and feel that consumers relish to view and use day to day.
